What HYLA Wellness Is

Helping people move with strength, confidence, and less pain through expert movement assessment and total body performance.

At HYLA Wellness, I believe movement is the foundation of health, performance, and longevity. Whether you're a competitive athlete, a weekend runner, a parent trying to stay active, or someone simply wanting to move without pain, the goal is the same: understand how your body moves, identify what's limiting it, and build the qualities that allow you to move confidently for life.

My role isn't to replace your strength coach, physical therapist, physician, or athletic trainer. My role is to complement them.

Through comprehensive movement assessment, I identify the limitations that traditional strength testing, medical imaging, and performance metrics often don't reveal. Together, we develop a plan that builds not only strength, but the mobility, stability, coordination, balance, and movement efficiency needed to apply that strength where it matters most.

What does your body need to move better?

Because strength alone doesn't create resilient movement. Movement quality allows strength to reach its full potential.

The HYLA Framework

The strongest athlete isn't always the best mover.
The best movers learn how to use all of their strength.

Total body strength isn't about how much you can lift — it's about how effectively your entire body works together to produce, absorb, and transfer force. Jeff evaluates movement across five dimensions to understand exactly where the system is breaking down.

Using movement systems analysis, Jeff identifies the factors limiting performance, contributing to pain, or preventing someone from reaching their goals — then develops individualized strategies to fix them.

Sometimes that means helping an athlete run faster. Sometimes it means helping a parent pick up their child without back pain. Sometimes it means helping someone trust their body again after injury.

The goal is always the same: Move better. Perform better. Live better.

Your Starting Point

Pain is one reason. Not the only one.

Jeff's clients don't always think they need rehabilitation. But they know they don't move the way they want to. Movement is the center — pain, performance, confidence, and injury prevention are all outcomes of the same underlying question.

Something doesn't feel right when I run.
My squat feels uneven — something is off.
My back hurts after every lifting session.
I can't lunge without pain on one side.
I've plateaued and I don't know why.
I want to move better before I get hurt.

Moving better leads to:

Less pain
Faster running
Better lifting
Return from injury
Injury prevention
Greater confidence
Improved longevity
More from training

Services

One integrated approach. Four areas of focus.

The HYLA Difference

Jeff doesn't replace your team. He fills the gap.

In collegiate and professional sports, athletes have a first-line evaluator — someone who can assess movement, coordinate care, and get results faster than the conventional pipeline. Most people never get access to that model.

"You become the person athletes see before they get injured, when they plateau, or when something just doesn't feel right."

At HYLA Wellness, movement is the center. Jeff evaluates movement to understand why people can't move the way they want to. Pain, performance, injury prevention, and confidence are all manifestations of the same underlying problem: the movement system isn't functioning as well as it could.

"He helps people understand how their bodies move, identifies what's limiting them, and develops a plan so they can move with more strength, less pain, and greater confidence."

Not replacing — complementing:

  • Strength coaches
  • Athletic trainers
  • Physical therapists
  • Sport coaches
  • Physicians

One story that says more than any testimonial could.

She was told she was done running. Months of conventional PT produced no path back. Then she worked with Jeff — and qualified for Triathlon Nationals 2027 in her very first race back.

About Jeff

Nearly 30 years. Movement is the center.

Jeffrey Lambert-Shemo, ATC
Jeffrey Lambert-Shemo, ATC — Movement Systems Specialist

For nearly 30 years, I've worked with professional athletes, collegiate athletes, high school athletes, runners, active adults, and individuals recovering from injury.

Throughout that time, I've learned that people rarely struggle because they lack effort. More often, they're working incredibly hard while unknowingly compensating for movement limitations that no one has identified.

That's why my focus has evolved beyond rehabilitation or traditional strength training. I specialize in evaluating how the entire body works together to produce, absorb, and transfer force.

As a Movement Systems Specialist, I identify the factors limiting performance, contributing to pain, or preventing someone from reaching their goals. From there, I develop individualized strategies that help people move more efficiently, build total body strength, and gain confidence in their movement.

Sometimes that means helping an athlete run faster. Sometimes it means helping a parent pick up their child without back pain. Sometimes it means helping someone trust their body again after injury.

The goal is always the same: Move better. Perform better. Live better.
